CA Part 1

Most of you know that the kids and I took a trip to CA a couple of weeks ago.  It was something I've wanted to do for so long, but it was never in our budget to do so.  It still isn't, but my dad and family insisted (with a lot of convincing) on paying for our trip.  I hate accepting money or such generosity, but my aunt and I had a long conversation that somehow convinced me to just accept it and be happy about it.  My family was excited and we were excited.  I'm forever grateful for the opportunity to have gone back to my hometown, after six years, and the time we spent with family.

The kids and I checked into a hotel on a Wednesday night, in my hometown, Camarillo, and stayed there until the following Monday morning. We were lucky enough to spend a lot of time with my sister and beautiful nieces.  I was able to see my mom for the first time in 5 years.  My dad flew in from Texas, and the rest of my family already lives there, besides 2 families that live near Las Vegas, and they came too.  My cousin Brittany was getting married, so that's why everyone was in town.

One thing I have dreamed about indulging in over the past six years, is Topper's pizza.  Maybe it's the fact that I grew up eating this pizza and I'm bias, but I think most people from Ventura County agree, it IS the best.  I've searched high and low in Utah, Florida, Idaho, and Texas (because we have lived in all of those places in the past 6 years) for anything that compares, and could not find anything that comes close.  (Yes, I take my pizza very seriously).  So for years, I have wanted this pizza like no body's business.

At last, we got to go, and I got to introduce it to my kids.  Jonah won't eat pizza, but Julien and Cooper got to experience what all the hype was about!  I've been raving about it for years to them.  Julien now considers it one of his favorite restaurants.
And nothing is better at Toppers, than Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza!  It's perfection.  I hate myself for taking this picture because I have drooled over it a million times since we've been back.
So, if you're ever in Ventura County, CA, look up Toppers Pizza.  It won't disappoint!

After Toppers, we went to Sky High so the kids could burn some energy.  Trampolines everywhere.  Kid heaven.

Grandma Cindy and all the kids.

The rest of the day was spent driving my kids around Camarillo, and visiting my aunt, uncles and cousins (no pictures:( though).  So good to see everyone.
