Like I said, we moved to Florida and will be here until the end of August (maybe a little longer). I managed to pack everything we could fit for the next several months (for 4 people!) into a little 2 door Honda Civic. It was mainly all in the trunk too because we had 2 car-seats that take up all the space in the back. How did I do it? Space saver bags! You know those things that you zip up and vaccum the air out of. Looks like this...This was how it looked after we got everything in...not too bad, huh!? (below).I must say, I have to be sure to keep up on laundry and dishes constantly because we only have so much...maybe that's a good thing. I do wish I brought more clothes though.
I just went to wal-mart and bought some of those space savers bags. They are not cheap so I hope they are worth the cost!
ReplyDeleteKelley,
ReplyDeleteI heard the ones from Walmart don't work! Do they have a hole to vaccum out of? If you can't vaccum them, I would not buy them. I got mine from Bed Bath. Not cheap, I know, but all in all, it was cheaper than renting a moving truck. I hope yours work! Sit on them, lay on them while you vaccum the air out, that's the trick....hahaaha, and you'll feel funny.
Thanks! I will try them now- Vak thought they were a waste of money. I am actually using them for the clothes pillows we are putting in storage. Last summer I had curtains with holes in them and a ton of clothes that smelled awful for being crammed in a bin.
ReplyDeleteThe wal-mart ones worked! I almost didn't even bother trying them out and was just going to return them when today Vak was complaining about having something to protect his suits and stuff and I was like, "wa la!" They were the best! I love them...
ReplyDeleteHAHA I wish you could have seen our Little Kia with all our stuff jammed inside. I had to vacum pack everything too! It's amazing how much stuff you need when you have kids!(Caitlin)
